Building Your Own Web Page

Planning

  1. Know your audience (students, parents, community, other schools, all of them.)
  2. Know your purpose (in class use, homework assignments, worksheets, parent information)
  3. Content: What do I want to include in my web site? (Hint: start small you can always add pages latter)

A Class Web site can help you consolidate resources and share ideas. With the wonderful Web authoring tools available these days, possibly the hardest part of creating a personal or class Web page is figuring out what to put on it! Below are some ideas of what can be included on your class site.

Class information Class links and resources. Interactive online lessons.
Lesson outlines Class worksheets Online tests
Class notes Examples of students work Other

In our next activity, we'll consider the content of your Web site. By the time we finish, you'll have a better idea of what your Web site will include.
